Flash is no longer available to download since December 31, 2020, and Adobe starts blocking Flash content from running altogether on January 12, 2021. The company recommends that you uninstall Flash entirely as a matter of security. There will be no more updates to Flash, nor will you be able to download old versions directly from Adobe.

Flash was able to rise to prominence thanks to the simplicity of installing a small plugin that was compatible with most browsers. Since Flash used vector-based graphics, file sizes for the resulting animations were tiny. This was important at a time when many people were using dial-up internet with slow download speeds.

"Since Adobe will no longer be supporting Flash Player after 31 December 2020 and Adobe will block Flash content from running in Flash Player beginning 12 January 2021, Adobe strongly recommends all users to immediately uninstall Flash Player to help protect their systems. Also, some users may continue to see reminders from Adobe to uninstall Flash Player from their system"adobe's official site noted.

The HTML5, WebGL and Web Assembly have continually matured over the years and serve as viable alternatives for Flash content. Also, major browser vendors are integrating these open standards into their browsers and deprecating most other plug-ins.

Since Adobe Flash Player is officially dead, it will no longer receive updates and security patches, uninstalling this is recommended as it may leave your system vulnerable and get it compromised by hackers.
